Protractor & Angle Finder ("the app") is published by Overmax Labs. This policy explains what the app uses, what it keeps and why.
Camera: shown on screen, never recorded or uploaded
The camera is used only in the Camera tab, so you can measure an angle on what you point at. The app asks for permission the first time you open that tab. The camera image is processed on your device and is never recorded, stored or uploaded.
Photos. When you tap Photo, the app creates a picture with your angle and the date drawn on it. It stays on your device and is only saved to your gallery or shared if you choose to.
Motion sensor
The level, the inclinometer and the two-surface tool read your phone's accelerometer to calculate angles. These readings are processed on your device and are not sent anywhere. Calibration values are stored only on your device.
Your History
Measurements you save (their name, angle, tool and date) are stored only on your device. You can rename or delete them at any time, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
Data collected by services we use
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) collect app usage events (for example, which tool was opened, that a measurement was saved and its angle rounded to 0.1°), device and app information, and crash reports, linked to a random app instance identifier. Firebase Analytics may also read your device's advertising ID for statistics. We use this to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. These services never receive camera images, photos or the names in your History.
- Firebase Remote Config and App Check (Google) let us adjust app settings remotely and check that requests come from the genuine app. App Check uses Google Play Integrity.
- Ads. The current version shows no ads. If a future version shows ads, Google AdMob and its mediation partners may use your device's advertising ID; this policy will be updated before that happens, and you will be able to manage your choices in Settings > Ad privacy choices.
We do not sell your data. Data sent to these services is encrypted in transit.
Retention and deletion
Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months, and crash reports for at most 90 days. To ask us to delete data held by these services, see the data deletion page.
Children
The app is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
