Privacy Policy
Radio App: FM & AM Radio USA · com.overmax.radiolauncher · OverMax S.A. · Effective date: 20 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OverMax S.A. ("OverMax", "we", "us") collects,
uses, discloses and protects information about you when you use Radio App: FM & AM Radio USA (shown on your phone as Radio FM AM Launcher)
(package com.overmax.radiolauncher, the "App"), a free Android home screen app with a
directory of radio stations from the United States. It applies to this App only. By using the App you
acknowledge the practices described here.
The short version. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or any account. The App plays radio stations' own public streams; we never record or rebroadcast audio. The only thing we store on our servers is the anonymous "likes" you give to stations. The App is free and shows ads, and our advertising and analytics partners receive device identifiers as described below. You can delete your likes, reset your advertising ID and ask us anything at [email protected].
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information stored only on your device
- Favorite and recently played stations, the last station you listened to and your sleep timer choice.
- Your home screen: the list of apps installed on your phone (to draw your home screen and app drawer), icon order, folders, hidden icons, widgets and recently opened apps.
- Station searches: searching for a station, city or frequency happens on your phone.
- Approximate location for "Near me", only if you allow it: your phone finds the city and state you are in and sorts stations on the device. It is not sent to us.
This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
1.2 Information stored on our servers: station likes
When you tap the heart on a station, it is saved to your favorites and the station gets one "like" in a shared counter used to rank Most popular. To make sure each person can like a station only once, the App signs in with an anonymous ID created by Google Firebase Authentication and stores, in Google Cloud Firestore, a record with that anonymous ID, the station ID and the time of the like. The anonymous ID is not linked to your name, email, phone number or Google account. You can see and copy it in the App under Menu → About & Terms.
1.3 Information collected automatically
- Usage events (Google Firebase Analytics): for example, that the app or a screen was opened, which station was played and for how many seconds, which way of browsing was used, that a station failed to play and the error code, that the App was set as your home screen, and how much the ads shown in each part of the App earned. Events never include the apps you open, the websites you visit, what you type in the web search bar, or your precise location.
- Crash and diagnostic data (Google Firebase Crashlytics): crash reports, device model, Android version and app version.
- Identifiers: the Firebase installation and app instance IDs, the anonymous ID used for likes, and your device's resettable advertising ID (used by our advertising partners).
- App integrity (Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity): a token that confirms requests come from the genuine App, to prevent fake likes.
- Configuration (Firebase Remote Config): to update settings and the list of stations without publishing a new version.
- Network information: like any internet service, the servers you connect to see your IP address.
1.4 Information collected by third parties when you use features
- Radio stations. When you play a station, your phone connects directly to that station's stream or its streaming provider, which receives your IP address and basic technical information, as with any internet radio player. Some stations send the name of the song that is playing, which the App shows. Each station's own privacy policy applies to its stream.
- Weather. To show the temperature, the App asks a public IP geolocation service (ipwho.is, with GeoJS and ipapi.co as backups) for the city of your connection or, if you allow it, uses your phone's approximate location, and sends coordinates rounded to about 11 km to Open-Meteo, without any identifier.
- News and web search. Headlines come from the publishers' public RSS feeds; opening one opens the publisher's page in a browser tab, where that publisher's policy and cookies apply. While you type in the web search bar, the text is sent to Google's public suggestion service; searches open with the search engine you chose. Site icons are loaded from Google's public favicon service.
- Wallpapers come from Unsplash, which receives a request when you browse or apply a photo.
1.5 How we use information
- To provide the App: play stations, show your favorites, recents, nearby stations, most popular stations, the weather and news.
- To keep the App working and secure: fix crashes, detect stations that stopped working, prevent fake likes and abuse.
- To understand and improve the App, measured in aggregate.
- To show ads that keep the App free, and to measure our own ad campaigns.
- To answer your messages and requests, and to comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not build advertising profiles of our own.
1.6 Advertising, cookies and similar technologies
The App is a mobile app and does not use browser cookies of its own. Our partners use the advertising ID and similar technologies on your device:
- Google AdMob shows ads in the App's own screens. Ads are never inserted into a station's audio, and the radio pauses while a full-screen ad is on screen. Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses data from apps.
- Meta Audience Network competes to fill ad spaces through AdMob and, when it takes part, receives your advertising ID, basic device information, your IP address and your interaction with the ad. Meta Privacy Policy.
- Meta (Facebook) SDK, when active, measures installs from our own campaigns with your advertising ID, basic device information, your IP address and a few app events (app opened, set as home screen, app drawer opened).
1.7 Device permissions
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK, WAKE_LOCK | To keep the radio playing while you use other apps or the screen is off. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | To show the station that is playing, with its controls, in your notifications and lock screen. |
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION | Optional. Only for Near me (asked when you tap it, after explaining why) and for the weather. Without it the app still works. |
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | To play stations and load the station list, ads, news headlines and the weather. |
SET_WALLPAPER | To apply the wallpaper you pick on the wallpaper screen. |
REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES | To open your phone's own uninstall dialog when you choose "Uninstall" on an icon. You always confirm in that dialog. |
SET_ALARM | To open your phone's own clock app when you tap the time on the home screen. |
VIBRATE | Haptic feedback. |
Package visibility (a <queries> declaration) | To list the apps you can open, as any home screen app does. We do not use QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES. |
2. How we disclose information
- Service providers that process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Remote Config, App Check, Hosting) and Google Cloud.
- Advertising partners: Google AdMob and Meta, as described in section 1.6. Under some U.S. state laws, this can be considered "sharing" for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising.
- Services you use through the App: radio stations and their streaming providers, weather, news publishers, search engines and Unsplash, as described in section 1.4.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, legal process or a government request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of OverMax, our users or others.
- Business transfers: if OverMax is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction under this Policy.
- Aggregated information that does not identify anyone.
International transfers. OverMax is based in Argentina and our providers (mainly Google and Meta) process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
3. Your choices (right to object)
- Likes: tap the heart again to remove a like; we delete that record.
- Location: "Near me" and the weather work without it. You can deny or revoke the permission at any time in your phone's Settings.
- Interest-based ads: reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings (Google → Ads on most phones). Partners then stop linking new activity to the old ID. In U.S. states with privacy laws, the App asks Meta to apply Limited Data Use.
- Notifications: turn them off in your phone's Settings; the radio controls still work from the app.
- Home screen: stop using the App as your home screen from Menu → Switch back to my old home screen or your phone's Settings.
- Everything on your device: uninstall the App.
4. Do Not Track
The App is not a web browser and does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Use the choices in section 3, especially your device's advertising ID settings.
5. Additional disclosures for individuals in Europe
The App is made for the United States, but if you use it from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, OverMax S.A. is the controller. We process your information on these legal bases: performance of our service (playing stations, favorites, likes); legitimate interests (security, preventing abuse, fixing crashes, improving the App), balanced against your rights; consent (personalized ads and the Meta SDK, asked through Google's certified consent tool where required; you can withdraw it at any time); and legal obligations. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Additional disclosures for individuals in Brazil
If you use the App from Brazil, we process personal data under the LGPD (Law 13.709/2018) on the bases of performing our service, legitimate interest, consent where applicable and compliance with legal obligations. You may ask for confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion, information about sharing and the withdrawal of consent, by writing to us (section 10). You may also contact the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD).
7. U.S. state consumer privacy rights
Residents of states with consumer privacy laws (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others) have these rights, subject to the law of their state.
| Category | Examples in the App | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Advertising ID, Firebase installation and instance IDs, the anonymous ID for likes, IP address | Google, Meta (advertising, analytics) |
| Internet or other electronic activity | Usage events (stations played, screens opened), ad interactions | Google, Meta |
| Approximate geolocation | Approximate location for the weather; city of your IP address | Weather and IP location services; Google AdMob |
| Inferences | None made by us; ad partners may infer interests from the advertising ID | Google, Meta |
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by these laws, and we do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
Your rights: to know what personal information we process; to access and get a copy; to correct it; to delete it; to opt out of "sales", "sharing" for targeted advertising and profiling; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because the App's advertising works through your device's advertising ID, the fastest way to opt out of targeted advertising is to delete or reset it (section 3); you can also write to us. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision on your request by replying to our answer; if we deny the appeal, you can contact your state Attorney General.
8. California "Shine the Light"
California residents may ask once a year whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the prior year. We do not do this. Write to us to ask.
9. Nevada privacy rights
Nevada residents may opt out of the "sale" of covered information as defined by Nevada law. We do not sell covered information under that definition, but you may still send us an opt-out request.
10. Information requests
To ask whether we hold information about you, or to access, correct, export or delete it, write to [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request". Because the App has no accounts, include your anonymous ID (Menu → About & Terms → Copy my anonymous ID) so we can find your likes. Data held by Google and Meta about your advertising ID is managed through their own tools and your device settings. We answer within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 to 45 days) and may ask for information to verify the request.
11. Data retention
- Likes: until you remove them or ask us to delete them.
- Usage events: according to our Google Analytics retention setting, no longer than 14 months for event-level data.
- Crash reports: about 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics).
- Data on your device: until you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
- Information we must keep for legal reasons is kept only as long as the law requires.
12. Security
Everything the App sends to us and our providers travels encrypted (HTTPS). Likes are protected by server rules that only let each anonymous user add or remove their own like once per station, and by Firebase App Check. Some radio stations only offer unencrypted (http) streams; those connections carry the station's public audio, not your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
13. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Radio stations and content
The App is a directory. All programs, music, names and logos belong to their stations and rights holders; we only show a station's name and logo to identify it and play its public stream. If you own a station and want it removed or corrected, write to us with the station's name; we act promptly.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy. We will change the effective date at the top and, for material changes, give notice in the App or on this page. If you keep using the App after a change takes effect, the updated Policy applies.
16. Miscellaneous and contact
This Policy is written in English; if it is translated, the English version prevails. Questions, requests or complaints: [email protected] — OverMax S.A.
